Effective January 1, 2010 the Southern Kane County Training Association will be downsizing the amount of classes and services offered.

These changes have been made due to budget constraints, decreases in available ITTF funding and changes within the Illinois Fire Service Institute.  The Fire Officer series of classes will be offered in the area as before but the location of the classrooms will be determined by the Illinois Fire Service Institute. Technical Rescue classes will still be conducted at our training site but the Institute will manage and schedule those as well.  Southern Kane will still host firefighter academies, EMT-B classes and a few select other classes.

All registrations for Fire Officer and technical rescue classes should be completed on the Illinois Fire Service Institute’s web site at www.fsi.illinois.edu or call IFSI at 217-333-3800 and ask for Jody.

It is unfortunate that budget cuts have come to this, but the Southern Kane County Training Association will still be alive and in a ready position to ramp back up to full speed when the economy revives itself.

Sincerely,

Steve Miller
President
